Sneaking in Those Moments to Work

Monday night, 8:47 pm. Dishwasher has been emptied and then filled again. DH is in bed (due to his having to rise early), daughter is doing homework in her room. I've put the birds to bed. Off I sneak to the studio. I'm not feeling as blissful as I did Saturday: no cup of tea, no NPR on the radio. Rather, I'm feeling purposeful and determined.

I change the thread in the machine to red and set about to quilt everything that wants red thread.

9:13 pm and I have to stop. I'm finished with the larger blocks, and I've ironed the quilt again - it's such a pleasure to fondle the quilt when it's been ironed. Then I notice I missed a block, but it's too late to start it now. I'm too tired.

I got in just over a half hour, and made good progress. Now I can sleep.

But wait, I have to show you my new business cards!

These are of the same design that I used for cards in Singapore. I liked the design so much, I just decided to repeat it.

OMG, I want cards like that too!
...I am so proud of you, getting into the studio and getting stuff done, one stitch at a time, and eventually things get done. Woowoo!

I have been an avid reader of Melody's blog for a long time and I was happy to see today that she had a link to your blog...so here I am :)

What a talent you both have and I'm glad you've dusted off your machine and got back to making quilts. Whether it's fusing or piecing, the results are the same....satisfaction that you've created something.

I really like the piece you're working on. It's going to be another outstanding quilt :)

Brooke, love that you squeeze in time where you can...even if it's half an hour. The cards are terrific and will be sure to be appreciated by those who get one. Good luck on your newish endeavors.
